Gator Game/Date Day

Despite the Gators' last dismal loss of the season against FSU, we still had a lot of fun at our house b/c Susan & Anabelle came over.  Another good thing about having babies - distractions from bad fooball games!
They had a great time playing, it's so fun to watch them as they get older - they're more and more aware of each other every time we get together, soon enough they'll be sitting side by side playing/fighting for toys!

Hanging out on the playmat.

I like your hat, you look pretty.

Thanks.  I like your...bald head.

Hi!  Whatcha doin?

With our little thumbsuckers!

Of course, along with the fun playtime there's always some sad faces.  Apparently they fed off each other a bit - at one point one of them started fussing, which made the other one start as well.  As the good parents we are, we decided to capture the chaos on film before actually trying to soothe them.  Can't miss out on a good video moment, right?!

So Thankful

We had a GREAT Thanksgiving break this year.  We started Thanksgiving day off by watching daddy play in the Cella Family Turkey Bowl.  Here's a shot of Mason with his buddy Cal, 10 months:

We had a great Thanksgiving meal at the Fortneys' house with the whole SD family.  Mason did a great job with all the people, but it was really hard to get him to smile!

We also gave him some of his first big boy foods - he got to try mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and mommy gave him a LITTLE taste of vanilla ice cream.  One guess which he liked best!  Here's a cute video of Addison helping feed him:

On Friday we had a half day with Tristan before he had to leave for his playoff game, and it was so gorgeous out we decided to take a nice walk on the beach.

After daddy left Mason & I played for a bit, at which time he officially found his toes.  I of course thought it was the cutest thing ever :)

Then, since it was nice out and Mason was getting a little fussy, I decided to take him on another walk, but this time in his stoller like a big boy!  Here we are ready to go - he was a little confused!

Within 10 minutes he was completely passed out...and I was bored!  I had nothing to look at!  But the stroller was SO much lighter without his car seat in it, and since he did so well I'm thinking it may be close to time to transition him this way full time.  We'll see :)

I'm going to make Saturday's activity, the gator game, a separate post.  So for now I'll skip to the end - on Sunday we met up with the Herricks for lunch, then headed out for yet another walk back out by the beach.  Mason leads a very rough life.

All in all, it was a great weekend.  Oh - and Tristan's team lost on Friday, which means we finally have him back for good!  Yippee!!!

Thumbsucker

I mean really...if you're hungry, keep the thumb out of your mouth!

Sitting Up!

Mason is almost sitting up on his own.  He can sit up un-supported for little periods of time the falls over, but every day he gets better and better!

Happy Half Birthday!!

Our sweet baby boy is 6 months old today - NO clue where the time went!  He brings us so much happiness, such a sweet little boy.  Here's to another 6 great months till his big #1!
An update on how he's doing, which in one word is GREAT!  He's sleeping 11 or so hours straight at night, I don't remember the last time he woke up in the middle of the night (knock on wood).  He eats breakfast & dinner of oatmeal & a fruit or veggi, and understands the word and sign for "milk" and "eat".  We're slightly concerned by the fact he still refuses/can't roll over, but he's starting to sit up almost unattended and loves his play gym and Johnny Jump Up, so not overly concerned.  He's been teething up a storm the past month or so, but still no signs of teeth.  Luckily other than a lot of drool and the occasional painful day, it doesn't make him cranky.  He's still a runt, only weighing just over 14 lbs, which kind of has us scratching our heads because he eats constantly...but we're sure he'll catch up eventually.  He loves his mama and daddy, and is the happiest baby we know!
He's starting to like these pictures with his friends Pooh & Blue

There goes Pooh!

It's a Date!

After a long month and a half without seeing his girlfriend, we finally got Anabelle & Mason back together.  It was really great to see her and her mommy Susan!  Belle is getting SO big, and Mason loved having them over, was squealing and smiling/laughing the whole time.  We got a little flirt action from them, which in typical childish fashion consisted of Mason pulling Belle's hair...it's a form of affection, Belle!

You Win Some, You Lose Some...

It was another football weekend in the McCoy family.  Friday was Tristan's last regular-season game, and it was against Poway, their local rival.  To show his support, Mason sported this AWESOME shirt that some of my girlfriends had made for him.  It must have worked, b/c they kicked Poway's booty!  Now, off to playoffs!

Then on Saturday we had Opa & Uncle Ladd over to watch the gator game against USC.  As we all know, that didn't have quite the outcome that the RBHS game had.  I've got to admit it's been really nice having a huge distraction during this dismal season we've been having - I can honestly say I don't really care so much.  I've got my hands full with other things...like serving up meals to THIS adorable face:

I can tell Mason's getting stronger and stronger, and every day is easier for him to sit up straight and in his play gym.  Can't wait for him to be able to sit up on his own...his world is going to open up like crazy after that!  PS, the bib is becoming a permanent part of his attire - kid is drooling like crazy!  He's teething :)

Having Fun!

We got Mason giggling like crazy the other night.  Sorry for the crazy filming job, Tristan was trying to hold him with one hand and video with the other.  Plus, as you can see, the minute Mason notices the camera he stops what he's doing.  This is one of my favorites yet!

Happy Halloween

Mason's first Halloween was a success!  First off, the Gators bet Georgia...yeah!

Gigi & Pop were here all weekend to play, which was a lot of fun.  on Sunday, Halloween, we went over to Jeanette & Doug's house for dinner, which was awesome as usual.  From there we headed over to Auntie Laura & Uncle Todd's house so we could walk around their neighborhood w/the whole crew, wine glasses in hand as usual.  Mason was a monkey...although looking at these pix he probably could have been a bear too and no one would have known the difference :)  But his daddy got his hands on a gorilla costume, so they were daddy & baby together.  I didn't know about said costume till the day before, so unfortunately didn't have time to put a zookeeper costume or something together.  Oh well!  He had a great night, and looked pretty cute!
