I love Sophia
Mason was chomping away on Sophia this weekend, I think the squeaky rubber noise it makes when he chews on her legs is hilarious. After a little while, he grew tired of chewing on her legs, so tried to go for his thumb. One problem - Sophia's legs were in the way. Poor guy kept trying to get his thumb in there but her darn legs kept going in with it. Of course, rather than help, I got it on video :)
This was before the thumb incident, notice how he stops chewing when I talk to him :)

I Rolled Over!
About a month & a half ago Mason rolled over from tummy to back during tummy time. Although I consider it his "first" time, it was a total accident - amidst his fussing he somehow kicked his way over. He was as surprised as we were, and sure enough hasn't done it since...until yesterday!
I helped him out just a little bit by making sure his right arm was underneath him, but otherwise he did it all on his own! I was able to capture it the 2nd time he did it, yay!

Happy 4 Months
Happy 4 month birthday, Mason! Mommy & daddy love you so much, and you're getting cuter and cuter every day!
DUCKS!
So, in the hospital when Mason was 1 day old we put him in the most ridiculous duck PJs. He looked so funny, and the PJs were so big they ate him up. Well...he is 4 months old today and the PJs still fit. How sad. But cute. So here for your enjoyment are the before & after:

Big Boy Clothes!
Mason has been so small from the beginning that NONE of his closet full of clothes has fit him. So we've spent the last 3.5 months rotating the same old onesies every day, because I didn't want to spend a lot of money on new clothes. Now that he's finally starting to chub up a bit I'm finally able to start raiding his closet for some cute outfits. Here's the first one I found for him, a little collared Polo outfit...so adorable!

Sophia la Giraffe
Mason has a new friend, her name is Sophia. She is essentially a baby chew toy - all rubber with a squeaky in her tummy & head - but for some reason I guess babies love her. She was developed in France in 1961 and is still made with the same old-school techniques and is the same style. She's made with food-based paint so she's perfect for little baby gums to chew on to their heart's content. I decided to buy one for Mason, and so far he really likes her! I think she's going to be a good friend to him when he starts teething :)

Growth Spurt
For the past 2 weeks or so, Mason's night time sleeping schedule has been a little out of whack. He was like clockwork for about a month, then suddenly started waking up an extra time a night whether to eat or just unswaddled. I was getting frustrated, but also hoping it was a growth spurt which I know happens around 3 months.
We had him weighed on his 3-month birthday and to our slight concern, he was still only 9 lbs 7 oz. Today I had to take him to the doctor to have some what I think are spider bites checked out...and lo and behold, he weighed in at 11 lbs 4 oz!!!! His 4-month birthday isn't till next Thursday, so that has him gaining almost 2 lbs in 3 weeks! YEAH MASON!!!
It also means he's almost doubled his birth weight in 4 months, which makes me very happy :)
(PS, the bites are a bit mysterious and only require some topical ointment, they don't bother him at all)
Oh...and he also found his thumb :)

BEAT USF!
This weekend was Mason's second UF game day, and yet again he was a dream baby! Like last week we sat out the 1st half while he napped, and then after he was fed & happy we headed over to Players, where he sat with Brian and Sara for a while. Great practice for the parents-to-be, and Mason loved the attention.
HANDS!
It looks like Mason is finally finding his hands/fingers and learning how to use them. Just in the past few dayss he's started reaching for objects placed in front of him. It's pretty funny watching him try to figure it out :)

Bottle Baby
I'm in the process of transitioning Mason to all bottles during the day - with my busy work schedule I just don't have time to nurse during the day. Besides the fact apparently he could care less where his food comes from, nor does he care what's IN the bottle so why overextend myself, right??
This is how he ate yesterday:
And this is how he ate today. He's learning! (PS, the bottle is 3x the size of his head haha!)

New Outfit
Mason wore one of his new outfits from GiGi today. I get really excited when he fits into new clothes because up until recently, he only fit into newborn onesies. Maybe soon we can start dressing him in all the adorable clothes that fill his closet & dresser!

Jockey Photo Shoot
A little unintentional photo shoot, Jockey style (aka underwear only!). He's becoming such a handsome little boy...and those baby blues are still VERY blue :)
GO GATORS!!!!
Yesterday was Mason's first game day! We woke up early and caught Game Day, then he took a nap while I watched the first half of the Gator game at home. Once he got up & was fed, we headed to the Gator Club to meet up with Opa, Uncle Ladd, Sara & Brian. Despite the loud atmosphere, Mason loved it and spent the entire 2nd half in Opa's arms! So excited for the rest of the season!

Talking
Mason is starting to talk more & more. We have so much fun having "conversations" with him, and his faces are hilarious. You can tell he's working very hard to say what's on his mind :)
He's also getting used to me coming in for kisses - he SEEMS to like it :)
