Future Quarterback? Pitcher?

The "boy" in Mason is starting to really come out.  One of his favorite things to do is throw all of his different balls, and play catch.  Well, it's not quite catch but you get the drift!  Keeps him occupied for a pretty long time.  Wonder if we have a future quarterback or pitcher on our hands?  Hehe :)

I'll Do It Myself!!

Have I mentioned before that Mason loves to eat??

Mommy's Work Assistant

This morning I wanted to get some work done before Kelli got here, so I assigned Mason to some filing.  I think he's going to be a great assistant :)

On a side note, I have no clue how some people work from home and DON'T have help with their kids.  I'd get nothing done!

10 Months!

Yes, another month has gone by, and Mason is now 10 months old!  Life just gets better and better - for us and for him!  He is still such a joy, so happy and almost never fussy.  He's starting to crawl everywhere - still more of an army crawl but he's getting stronger every day and practices being up on all 4s.  He also loves to walk around holding our hands, and although he's still very unstable, he can stand holding on to the side of the couch or coffee table for a few minutes at at time, and is starting to move around like that.  He LOVES to eat, and is pretty much eating anything/everything we put in front of him.
Hard to believe in 2 months we'll be celebrating his first birthday!

Here's our 10 month photo shoot - as you can see, it's getting harder and harder to get him to sit still with Blue and Pooh, and he totally cracks me up as he throws around his sign.

This one cracks me up - in case you can't tell, that's the paper flying through the air on the left.  Mason has just chucked it as far as he can.

Oh and in case you didn't notice his awesome shirt, check out these gators!

New Chair

We registered for this chair and I'd totally forgotten about it.  Mason's at the point now where we can start sitting together as a family for dinner (when it's made on time and everyone's home, that is!), but my problem was becoming distracting the little bugger while I tried to cook!  The other day I was in the garage and the box caught my eye and I realized it would be perfect...and I was right!
Last night it was just the 2 of us while daddy was at work, so I put him in there, and with the help of some green beans & peas we got dinner ready in record time!

I also learned that distracting him with toys wouldn't work...or at least, not unless I wanted to watch each of them immediately be thrown overboard :)

Playing Outside

Friday was gorgeous out, so we took the party outside our front door for a while during my lunch break.  I really love that my job allows me to enjoy these times with him!

Then after work Tristan & I took Mason down to the beach for a walk.  I'm not going to lie, I'm really, really, REALLY going to miss being able to do this once we move.  Makes me dread the big move, although I know it's for the best!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'm off to LA tomorrow for 2 days for work and our work St. Patty's party (green beer for mommy, yay!).  Since I knew I'd be gone for Mason's first Irish holiday (hehe), I wanted to make sure he wore all his Irish attire this past weekend!

Gigi had this one made for him :)

With daddy at some friends house this past weekend.  Seems appropriate he wanted to get his hands on the beer.

This shot cracks me up, love Gracie the dog's cameo

New Camera

So this past weekend we got a new camera - Canon G12.  I thought it would be a perfect camera for us because it's a (huge) step above the PowerShot point-&-shoot I've been using for the past 5 years, but not as intense as the larger, more advanced DLSR cameras.  I'm a complete technology idiot, and am completely uninterested in educating myself to make myself less so, so I needed something that is fairly simple.
After playing with it for a few days (read:  I read the manual, turned the camera on and started taking pictures), I'm actually not sure if I love it.  I think the picture quality is good, but I'm not sure if it's as good as I expected it to be.  I have 14 days to return it, so I'm going to try to take as many pictures as I can between now and then to see if it starts to grow on me.
So, my question is ...what do you think?  Do you think I'm doing something wrong?  Help!

Playing with my new camera during pre-dinner playtime

Mason's first mohawk - is it just me or does he look like a TOTALLY different baby here??

Having some cereal at breakfast.  Yum yum!

New sippy cup!  Recommended by a fellow mama, and he caught right on!

Happy Weekend!

Just thought I'd share some cute pictures from this weekend!

I went in to check on Mason towards the end of one of his naps and this is what I found.  Within the past few months Mason has become quite attached to this monkey, and he is now a permanent fixture in his crib.  It's hard to see, but Mason is sucking his thumb here too...I mean, how cute can you get???

Mason joining daddy in a little Saturday morning newspaper reading.

By the way, I am obsessed with these PJs.  I took this with my cell phone so the quality is horrible, but look at those alligators!

RBHS boy's soccer was in the CIF Championship, so the 3 of us headed over to watch the game.  It was an absolutely gorgeous, warm day, so we made sure to keep our fair-skinned and bald baby covered.  The hat did the trick!  He of course also had to wear his "Future RBHS Bronco" shirt.  Poor guy was not a fan of soccer though, every time everyone started cheering he started crying.  By the end of the game, he and I were sitting at the top of the stadium in a corner eating grapes to keep him distracted.  But he liked being above the noise, and we got to watch the end of the game which ended in a big W for RBHS!  Go Broncos!

Later that day, getting some good crawl practice in with daddy.  He's now getting up on all 4s and rocking back & forth, and is doing a great job with the army crawl.  Today he figured out how to go from a sitting position to a crawl position without just falling over sideways haha.

Another bad cell phone shot, but had to show the big boy standing up in his crib!  We lowered his matress a few weeks ago, and he loves standing up holding onto the rail after his naps.  I obviously have to put him there, but I know the day will come sooner than later that we walk in the door to see him standing like that on his own!

Bath time!  My first attempt at a mohawk - still not much there to play with!

All in all, it was a pretty good weekend, minus the fact we still didn't find a home.  On a fun note, I bought a new "big girl" camera today, so look for some better-quality photos to be posted soon!
