Villa Wedding

I apologize in advance...this post not only isn't about Mason, but won't include a single picture of him!  Our brother in law Todd's sister, Robyn, got married on Saturday which means Tristan & I got our 3rd night out sans baby since he was born!  Yippee!

She got married at the Hilton Torrey Pines, which is right on the golf course.  It was absolutely beautiful!  We've had some yucky weather the past few months so it could have been a really cold, dreary day, but instead it ended up being one of the most beautiful, sunny, warm days we've had in quite a while!  We were so happy for her & Brian that they got so lucky.

Me & my extremely handsome husband.  We got there a little late and the last row was all that was available.  Turned out to work to our advantage, I got some great shots of everyone coming down the aisle!

Todd and their mom (mother of the bride), Jeanette - she looked stunning!

Tristan's sister Laura and her cute prego belly.

The adorable flower girls and our nieces Grace & Addison.  Not sure who the little girl in the middle is :)

Grace & Addison's cousins, Jake & James.  Please note the adorable Converse All-Stars!

The stunning bride & her dad.

 So happy :)

Brian is a Navy Seal (he's a sniper!!), looked so handsome in his uniform.

Lighting is a bit off, but just the most gorgeous setting.  Golf course right behind them, ocean behind that.

Addison came back a few times during the ceremony to see Opa & BG, who we were sitting with.  Showing off her pretty shoes.

You may now kiss the bride!

Cocktail hour - those McCoys are good looking people!

Addie loves her Opa!

Not gonna lie, we were pretty happy to have a night "off" together.  And just a little bragging...this dress is MUCH looser than when I wore it for my holiday party in December.

Magnum of champagne for guests to sign.  Cute idea!

The cakes.  Guess Seals are called "frogs" hence the frog groom's cake.  I was surprised to see how small the cake was...

Until I got to our table.  Every table's centerpiece was a cake!  Such a cute idea - after they cut the cake, the servers came around and cut all of ours.

Me and my beautiful niece Grace

I couldn't get the lighting right, but I loved all the little girls lined up to watch the first dance.

Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Villa!

First Beach Trip!

Although we go down to the beach as often as possible with Mason to take walks, etc, we hadn't actually taken him TO the beach.  Just seemed like more of  a production than it was worth when he was too little to even sit up on his own.  We decided we really needed to get down there before we move next week.

Wow - am I glad we did!  Mason was OBSESSED.  After taking a little walk with him in the Bjorn, we found a cozy plot of sand to walk around on.  He headed straight to the water and spent a long time splashing around as we held his hands.

Then came the best part - the sand.  We plopped him down to see how he'd react to getting sand all over the place...and well, if we ever had a doubt before that he's all BOY, this certainly solidified it!  He was happy as a clam, digging in the sand, throwing it, kicking his feet and of course tasting it.  He was having a blast!

I mean - how much fun is he having???
He had sand everywhere, including his mouth.  Apparently he liked the taste of it, he never fussed once!
Daddy took him back to the water to rinse him off.

First day at the beach - SUCCESS!!!

11 Months!

Well this is it...we've entered into Mason's last month of his first year of life.  We can't believe he's going to be 1 year old soon!  This past month was another great one, he continues to be just the best little boy.  He's always happy, LOVES to eat and is so excited to be almost walking.  He gets a kick out of walking around holding our hands, and loves to either kick a ball around the room, or throw one, chase after it, pick it up & throw it again.  It's like his own game of fetch :)  We're really ready for him to learn to walk on his own - our backs are constantly aching from walking around holding his hands!  But he is such a joy and the light of our lives.

Well, that sign didn't last long!
 Oh, hi there Blue!
 About to throw the paper.
 Mason, where are Blue's toes?
 What's up, Blue?
Mason, can you give Pooh a kiss?

Happy birthday, bub - can't believe you'll be 1 in less than a month!

Dinner Time = Happy Time!

Dinner time has become one of Mason's favorite parts of the day, and it's now a favorite of mine too.  Now that he is feeding himself and past his "bewitching hours" in the evening, we've been able to sit as a family and eat dinner together.  Tristan & I are able to catch up and talk about our days while Mason happily "Mmmm!  Mmmm!"'s his way through whatever is on his tray.  Just don't let that tray go empty or you'll hear about it!  He's a total mess by the end of each meal and I love it.

On the menu last night was black beans, rice, carrots & green beans, with grapes for dessert.

Tonight we had pizza, and tomorrow night will be whole-wheat pasta & crushed tomoatoes.  Life is goood :)

Being Silly

Mason kept biting the spoon the other night at dinner and he thought it was SO funny.  Had to capture it - his sense of humor is really coming out and I love it.  He sure loves to laugh!

Outside Fun

Check out my matching boys!  Oh, and just for the record, Mason was dressed first.  As soon as daddy saw his outfit, he ran upstairs & changed :)  Again, sorry for the quality, took this on my phone...can't WAIT to get a new phone that actually takes decent pictures.

Saturday evening we took our usual stroll around the neighborhood in Mason's car.

After we got home, rather than go inside I decided to have a little fun in the grass outside.  It was so nice out!  Mason loved spending some time in the grass, and tasting every leaf he could get his hands on :)
I wonder how this leaf will taste?

Oh my gosh that's disgusting!  Haha, best face ever!
Maybe this leaf will taste better?

 Or this blade of grass?
Nope, they're all disgusting so I'll just throw pinecones instead!

He loves being outside!  We can't wait to get into our new house so he's got a yard to play in!
