ABC's, Colors and more

Mason has discovered daddy's football wipe board in our office, and we figured out his play gym is the perfect height to "color" on it with.  He loves to jump up there and draw, and often times recites the ABC's as he "writes" the letters. 

He's also learned some colors!  Red, blue, green, yellow, purple, brown.

The other night we were over at some of our closest friends' house, who have 3 boys ages 6-2.  The three boys & their dad were wrestling around making a LOT of noise, as boys do.  However, OUR boy barely even flinched, let alone wanted to join in...he was too busy lining up some toy cars in the corner.  Sorry for the quality, these were taken on my friend's phone.

Grace & Addie passed this cool trampoline along to Mason the other day, and he loves it!

Big Boy

So, I'm not sure where my sweet little baby is...but apparently he has been replaced by a sweet BIG boy!  I cannot begin to explain how much Mason has changed in just the last month or two - I swear overnight he's turned into a little boy who is talking up a storm (half of which I have no clue what he's saying but this doesn't deter him from non-stop chatter), knows how to count and say some of his ABCs, and is feeding himself!

This past weekend we went up to LA to visit some good friends from when we lived up there.  On the way up we had a great time singing songs, playing with cars, and reciting our ABCs & counting to 10.  I caught the tail end of one of our counting sessions...now mind you he isn't talking perfectly but you can tell he knows what comes next.  Other than 5, which he skips every time :)

While I'm  mentioning that trip, here are some pix from our visit.  Apologies for the poor picture quality, the iPhone was all we had!

We stayed in LA through dinner and put Mason in his PJs for the drive home.  He made it about 30 minutes into the drive before giving in and passing out.

Now back to more big boy stories!  We also had some fun with yogurt after dinner last week - he loves to feed himself these days!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I haven't even updated you on our Denver trip from a month ago!  We've been extremely busy - latest project has been house painting that's been taking all of our evenings for the past week.  But keep checking back, hopefully I'll be able to post soon!

Jumping Jacks

I have a LOT to catch you up on - trip to Denver, Gigi & Pop were here, etc.  But until I find myself some time to organize all those pictures/videos, here's a little something to make you laugh.  We're just making sure Mason's got the workout basics figured out.  First up, jumping jacks!

He also does "push ups", which I'll try to catch next time he does them.

Hey Good Lookin!

The other day I was showing Mason videos of his girlfriend Cameron on her blog, and he was laughing so hard at some of them I decided to try to catch it on video to send to her mom.  With my new iPhone I can flip the camera so we can see ourselves as it's recording...well apparently someone likes looking at himself!  I kept catching him "flirting" at himself in the camera.  What a ham!

Science Museum

On Christmas Eve, since we didn't have plans until BG's party that evening we decided to head down to Balboa Park for a little family time.  We ended up getting down there a little too early before any of the museums opened, so we spent the first little while walking around.

We found a cool tree to play under for a bit.

And found a pinecone to throw around.

Since we only had a few hours we decided to check out the kids Science Museum.  It was a really neat museum but was definitely geared towards kids a bit older than Mason, although he still enjoyed a lot of the exhibits.  However, upstairs they have a toddler center - once we found it, we spent a good hour in there playing.  Mason loved all of it, but was particularly enthralled with the balls. 

We will definitely be coming back here to play! 

Oh and PS - can you tell I'm the photographer in my family?  I think of the 3 (very long) posts I just did, I'm in a total of 4 pictures.  I think next time we leave the house I'm putting daddy in charge of the camera!
