Mason's First Snowboarding Trip (Kinda)!

Every year since we met, Tristan & I have gone to Breckenridge, CO for a snowboarding trip.  We have a surprisingly large number of friends who live in Denver, and up until a few years ago two of my best friends, Ashley & Jenna, lived in Breckenride.  Jenna and her husband Michael now live in Denver, but Ashley is still up there and Jenna's family has an awesome house that they're generous enough to let us stay at once a year.  It's a very easy flight from So Cal, so it's always #1 on our list for a long weekend boarding getaway.

So, this year was no exception!  We're lucky enough to have Sheldon & Farrah down in Denver who have 3 year old Amina, and Jenna's brother and sister-in-law up in Breckenridge who have 15 month old Harper, which allowed us to to borrow car seats, pack & plays, and tons and tons of toys for Mason.

Our flight to Denver started off with a blast (hehe)!  We were stuck in the plane for an extra 30 min or so due to weather delays, so Mason had a great time running up & down the aisles.  Apologies, the only camera accessible was my phone.

The flight attendants loved him, and asked if he wanted to go meet the pilot and take a picture in the cockpit!  So, off we went to the front of the plane!

Once we got to Denver we spent a nice relaxing day with one of Tristan's best friends, Sheldon, and his awesome wife Farrah and 3 year old Amina.

On Friday, Tristan & Sheldon headed up to Breck to get a day of boarding in and me, Farrah, Mason & Amina followed a few hours later.  

Shortly before arriving Mason started to get fussy b/c he was tired, and sweet Amina held his hand to make him feel better.

We spent most of the weekend just hanging out in the cabin, talking, eating & drinking...and watching Mason, Harper & Amina play.

And of course, we had to go out and play in the snow!  After I got home from snowboarding, we bundled Mason up and took him out for his first snow experience.

I got a half day in on the slopes and am thrilled to report that I picked up right where I left off 2 seasons ago before I got pregnant!

It was a great, quick trip for all of us, but we're happy to be home.  Mason went over 9 hours without sleeping on Sunday due to our travels, and yet despite his complete exhaustion barely made a peep and was the best traveler.  Needless to say, he's been a sleeping machine the past few days and unfortunately has caught a cold.  This is what pooped looks like, even after 12 hours of sleep:

Don't worry, he's got plenty of cuddles to help him get through this cold, and I think is just happy to be back at sea level!

Next stop, Rancho Bernardo - we move in just over 2 weeks!
